Innovations

The HIGHRESIST® coating provides highly effective anti-corrosion protection as evidenced by a number of laboratory tests and implementations in the major power plants across Poland. Our protective coating is applied to steel components through laser metal deposition or thermal spraying, and its minimum thickness is only 0.5 mm. It is resistant to aggressive gases at high temperatures, low-oxygen atmospheres containing sulphur and/or chlorine compounds and ammonia.

Functional features

Functional features

The HIGHRESIST® coating provides long-term (up to 10 years) high-performance protection of boiler components against adverse impacts of boiler operating conditions. The resulting coating has low thickness, and therefore it does not interfere in any way with heat exchange processes and has only a slight impact on the mass-to-area ratio of coated surfaces.

The HIGHRESIST® protective coating helps to ensure trouble-free operation of units generating electric and thermal energy, to maximize the plant uptime by minimizing the need for maintenance and repairs, and to operate boilers in an online control mode so that boiler operating parameters can be adjusted at frequent intervals.

The HIGHRESIST® coating promotes environmentally friendly boiler operation as it enables implementing low-emission combustion and reducing NO2 emissions to below 200 mg/m3.

The coating is applied using innovative laser technologies and traditional thermal spraying procedures, which provides the following benefits:

  • Extremely smooth finish
  • Low Fe percentage (at 1-4%) with thermal spraying
  • Good sealing properties (100% tightness with laser technologies)
  • Low coating thickness
  • Quick application
  • Service life warranty: 6 to 10 years

Intended use

The HIGHRESIST® coating has been specifically designed as an efficient anti-corrosion barrier for proteciton of pressurized components in low-, medium- and high-output power boilers fired with coal, biomass or refuse-derived fuels. It is particularly useful in environments where corrosion-induced defects in the base material of boiler pipes are at least 1 mm per ~7500 boiler operating hours.

Popular applications:

  • Pulverized fuel boilers fired with coal plus 20% biomass, provided with low-emission burners
  • Systems exposed to gas corrosion

Features:

  • Retention NOx < 200 mg/m2
  • Thermal spraying technologies help to ensure good resistance to erosion in the area of changes in the configuration of burner pipes and OFA nozzles.
